Bristol G and T was set up by Hetty Brown and Verity Jones in 2017. After studying English Literature and Language at Oxford University, leaving in 2001, Hetty spent 15 years teaching in both the public and private sectors. Hetty is currently a teacher of English and Gifted and Talented Coordinator at St. Brendan’s Sixth Form College in Bristol.

Dr Verity Jones is a widely respected educational consultant and advises the London Gifted and Talented scheme. She has worked for many years in the world of education specialising in outstanding teaching practice and enhancing learning for all students.
Bristol Gifted and Talented was created out of the need to get the best for the most able but less privileged students of Bristol who may not know about all the opportunities out there for them. Please contact us with any ideas or thoughts that you feel may help our project.
Our aims:
Our aim is to collaborate with the excellent work that is already happening in the City of Bristol to support young people to great futures. Working closely with state schools, private schools, universities and industry we hope to keep a steady focus on the more able students of Bristol and the ways they can take up their rightful place at elite destinations.
We are a non-profit organisation aiming to help the gifted and talented students of Bristol achieve their most ambitious dreams.
We will support all students, parents, teachers, professional individuals and universities who also wish to help the more able students from less privileged backgrounds into the top flight of their chosen path.
We are passionate about equality and opportunity for all eligible students to attain places at elite universities and professional training. Come and join us on our journey.
